COMPLIMENTARY AFTERNOON TEA

This is served in the Great Hall or gardens (weather permitting) daily between 3 and 5pm. Please come to Reception to order. It would be appreciated if afterwards, you could leave your tray on the dresser in the dining room please so that the Great hall is left clear for others - thank you.

COMPLIMENTARY WELCOME TRAY

Please let us know if you would like additional biscuits, tea, coffee or bottled water. We have non-dairy milk available if required. We prefer not to use long life UHT milk so fresh milk is available in the drinks fridge under the stairs daily.

BREAKFAST

Breakfast is served in the dining room between 8am and 9.30am. Sunday 9.00am to 10.00am. If you would like to take breakfast outside of these times please ask and we will seek to accommodate you. Please be sure to advise us what time you would like breakfast on your breakfast card left for you to complete on your bed. Please complete the breakfast card and leave on the inner hall sideboard prior to retiring.

We operate a strict no smoking policy in the house (and summer house), however please feel free to smoke in the gardens and grounds and any of the outside seating areas. We would ask you please not to smoke in the front entrance porch as due to the prevailing winds your smoke will be driven back into the house. There is a designated smoking area located under the Coach House external stair where seating and a metal sand bucket is provided.

To keep the house clean for all, can we please ask that you leave any muddy footwear in the entrance hall where there are slippers available at all times. If you are walking the grounds please be aware that foxes frequent the gardens and do leave ‘packages’ here and there. The gardeners do clear the grounds very regularly however we would advise always to check footwear when you return to the house. There is a hose and foot brush at the rear of the Coach House if required.

PARKING

Please do not park your car in front of the porch/front doors - this area must be kept clear as it is a designated fire escape. The electric gates will open automatically on arrival and departure. If you are arriving back after 1pm at night you will have to enter the gate code 1680. Cars are parked in the car park at the owner’s risk. We are unable to accept responsibility for accidental damage or theft. Please note we do not charge for parking and you are most welcome to leave your car if in the village/walking on your day of departure have checked out up until 3pm.

BEST WAY TO WALK INTO VILLAGE

It is not recommended to use the main gates and driveway to access the village at night if on foot. Turn right out of the front door and follow the gravel footpath (leading from the carpark) around the rear of the house, past the croquet lawn and greenhouse. Through the garden gate will bring you out onto Church Street and the village green. The garden path is fully flood lit at night and you will find a garden gate key for re-entry on your room key ring. Please be aware of fast moving traffic when crossing Church Street especially at night. If driving out at at night the main entrance gates will open automatically however you will have to enter your gate code for re-entry. If you plan to arrive back after 1am at night please enter gate code 1680 enter for access.

FIRE & SAFETY

Your safety is our first priority. We have modern fire safety systems and alarms in the house including emergency lighting. If you discover a fire raise the alarm by sounding one of the break glass alarm points in the corridors. Please study the fire evacuation notice by your bedroom door. If you hear the fire alarm, leave your room immediately and using the nearest accessible exit, proceed to the assembly point – the front lawn opposite the main entrance.

  • Do not stop to collect personal belongings
  • Do not shout or run – this only causes panic
  • Do not re-enter the house until advised by a fire safety officer it is safe

OUT OF BOUNDS AREAS
