Overlooking both front and rear gardens, the sitting room enjoys two seating areas with fireside sofas. With Jacobean and later period antiques, it’s here you’ll find the original entrance to the priest hole which is now repurposed as a luggage store.

With a Cotswold stone open fire place and English and Flemish antiques, the bedchamber features a solid-oak, antique king four poster bed dressed in richly embroidered silks. The ancient heraldic painted cupboard once housed the Abbot’s valuables and is now repurposed as a wardrobe. Magnificent works of art and other valuable religious artefacts would have been housed inside. It was in these less formal spaces within the Bishops Suite that Manorial Court cases would have been judged and under the feudal system, more general tenant matters considered.

Modern en-suite facilities with golden Travertine-stone walk-in wet room rain shower completes the spacious and thoughtfully designed bathroom. With its own private living room, impossibly romantic bed chamber and en-suite facilities, the Bishops Suite is the most spacious accommodation within the main house.
